What did you do in 2012 that you’d never done before?
I started my blog which has probably been my favourite thing this year. It has been such a positive step in my journey to body acceptance and introduced me to a totally new and amazing world, filled with fantastic people.
Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I never make New Year’s resolutions as I know I can’t keep them.
Did anyone close to you give birth?
No one close to me did.
What countries did you visit?
I only went to Glasgow this year, doing my Masters meant I didn’t have time to travel.
What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
I think I need to make more time for my friends, I get too caught up in my work and that becomes my focus and ends up with me neglecting my friends a bit.
What date from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory?
12/12, the day I graduated from my masters with a Merit. It made my family so pro
ud and I was really proud of myself for getting so far and doing so well.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Being offered a fully funded PhD, it is something I never thought I would achieve and it is has been amazing so far.
What was your biggest failure?
Not being the best person i could.
Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had some problems with my kidneys but this is a long standing issue.
What was the best thing you bought?
My iPad, it has really made everything so much easier.
Where did most of your money go?
Clothes, my wardrobe has grown exponentially in the past year, I even had to buy a hanging rail as my wardrobe was starting to buckle under the weight.
What song will always remind you of 2012?
Someone like you by Adele, it was just played so much and this year was such a success for her.

Happier or sadder?
I am defiantly happier, I think I am starting to get on top of my depression and anxiety. I have a career sorted for the next 4 years that will lead onto bigger things. I have made some great friends and my boyfriend is still with me.
Thinner or fatter?
Fatter I think, I have pretty much have maintained my weight for the last few years now.
Richer or poorer?
Richer, I finally have a paying job, I am a teaching assistant at the university.
What do you wish you’d done more of?
Relaxing, spending more time with the people I love just doing nothing.
What do you wish you’d done less of?
Stressing and worrying, these are huge issues in my life and cause me all sorts of problems, I am really uptight and always thinking what might go wrong, I find it really hard to switch off but it is something I am working on.
Who were your best friends?
Cheesy as it may be, my boyfriend really is my best friend, he knows everything about me and we share everything.
What thing did you do that was meaningful to others?
By getting a job, I am not longer dependent on my parents, giving them more money for themselves and I am now able to treat them to little things, also by settling into Bath for the next 4 years, my parents are free of me.
What were your favourite TV programs?
I got into Mad Men in 2012, I know I was a bit late of the party but I’m here now. Does the Olympics count as a TV program?
What was the best book you read in 2012?
I haven’t had much chance to read things that weren’t related to my course but Fat!So by Marilynn Wann was great and others should read it.
What was your greatest musical discovery?
Lana Del Ray, her music and voice is something I can listen to again and again.

What was your favourite film of this year?
Avengers Assemble, I love superhero films and this combined them all.
What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I went to Brighton for the day, visited the Chocywokydoda cake shop and browsed the lanes. I was 25.
What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If cake didn’t make me put on weight?
What kept you sane?
My boyfriend, without him I might have had a breakdown over the summer.
Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Louis Theroux will always have a special place in my heart.
Who did you miss?
My Scottish friends, who I didn’t get to see enough of.
Who was the best new person you met this year?
There has been several, I have met some amazing new people on my course who are going to be firm friends and one of my housemates has become a great friend. Then there is the Plus size community, i have met some truly amazing people who i can't wait to meet in 2013.
