ASOS Curve review 2013

ASOS sent me an email the other day containing a 25% off code, this was just too good a chance to pass up, previously i had two orders (part of my valentines gift from my bf) that i had to send back as nothing fit, i didn't get photos as i was at my parents but now i am back in Bath am i going to show you my latest purchases and give you my verdict of them.

Graphic Print Dress - £28. This is available in Curve but i knew it would be too big for me, they didn't have an 18 in main range so i took my chance on a 16 and it actually fit! Available Here

I can't put my finger on why i don't like this dress, but i just don't. I don't think it suits my body shape and just makes me look like a bit of a lump wearing a sack, it also looks like i could be hiding a baby bump under it. The material is a soft jersey and i would defiantly recommend sizing down. I love the pattern just a shame it doesn't work for me.

T-shirt dress is skull print. £20. Size 20. Available here but currently sold out.
This dress looks nothing like it did on the model on me, it is actually long, to my knees, whereas i would want this to be a shorter dress. It also looks more body con on me, maybe if i sized up it would hang better but again the shape and length just don't work for me. I like the material, a thicker jersey, and the rolled up sleeve detail is nice. The pattern is fab! and i know there will be many girls out there who rock this.

Floral T-Shirt. £38 (but currently on offer for £30) Size 22. Available here

This material has no stretch and is cut really odd. It is really loose over my boobs and wants to just ride up all the time yet it is a little tights over my hips, when it should be more loose fitting, i would need to size up a size or two to get this looking better on me. The material is really light and would be perfect for the summer without tights.

Skater in Variegated stripe. £30. Size 22. Available here.

I really like this skirt,  i have become a huge fan of skirts and especially a skater skirt, it just really suits my body. This is a different, thicker, material than the other ASOS skater skirt. and has just a zip, which can be a bit tough to pull up. The sizing on this is pretty good, but it isn't as big as my other skater skirt is (i have some space in that, which i don't have in this) so you might need to size up depending how you like your fit.

Skater skirt in spot. £35 but currently on offer for £28. Size 22. Available here

This skirt is just sheer perfection, skater and spots, i was in love and i can say i wasn't disappointed. This is made from the same cotton material the other ASOS skater is made of, but a bit more stiff feeling (not sure that makes sense but oh well). It is navy. which i actually like, i am a big fan of navy. It is a good length on me, but i think you are quite tall, it might be a bit on the short side.

And finally, T-Shirt with Woven hem. £.22. Size 18 (main range). Available here and here

I really like this top, i had the Curve 20 and it was huge on me and i can't get it in a curve 18 so i tried a main range 18, the actually t shirt bit is much higher and my big boobs mean it sits above my bra, total disaster  So sadly it would seem this top isn't to be mine :(

So a bit of a mixed bag, i am just so disappointed in the sizing, having to send back the majority of this order and all of my last two orders because the sizing is off (mostly too big), I am hoping the feedback from fit day will come into place in the next few months and things will be much better.

  1. The skirts look lovely on you, I'm quite tall and I always have the problem with the bra bit being not over my boobs properly xx

  5. I actually love the first dress! It is so out of the norm and there's something about the opposite patterns I love. None the less the skirts suit you amazingly!

  6. i think the issue with the first dress is its a stock standard fat girls dress, all large prints to hide our rolls and stuff, i hate it when designers do that! you'd never see a size 8 wearing that! the skirts look so great on you, really tuck in at the waist properly to show off your good bits!

i've found that if i want anything to suit me i have to make sure it tucks in high on the waist otherwise its just a big NO!

  7. I think the first dress might work with a wide belt.
What sizes are you wearing? UK or US?
I am a US 14, what size do you think I would wear in Asos curve?

    1. maybe a 24? have you looked at the size chart? also look at the fabrics, stretchy fabrics have a lot more give so you can get away with smaller sizes, think how you would normally choose a size.x
