I have always quite liked the vintage look, mainly 50's with the shape of the dresses but i never thought i would be someone who actually wore vintage, as i am too fat. But hooray, there is vintage clothing out there for those of us who like to have that second bit of cake. It was brought to my attention by Cass who did an amazing post on some vintage dresses she found on Ebay, she was on a spending ban (as was i, thank god for generous boyfriends) and i was able to snap a few of them up, and here i am wearing my first proper vintage dress!
I wore this for teaching in the week, and i loved it, i felt fabulous and wanted to twirl around campus going look at my pretty dress, i will add, i didn't, as i didn't want to be chased by security thinking a nutter had got loose.
What drew me to this dress is the amazing pattern, The colours are so vibrant and striking, the leaf like pattern is memorizing. I loved the collar and tie neck, so different to things you would get these days. Yes it does hug my belly a bit, but when you have a big belly, it is kind of hard to hide. I am not a fan of playing hide and seek in my clothing. For £22 it was a bargain for my first bit of vintage!
I can't wait to wear this dresses when it gets a bit warmer with pumps, the boots don't really go, but keeping my toes warm is a priority.

Love the cut of that dress on the top - I love a bit of thrift shopping :)
