Creme egg brownies

Last week i made Creme egg brownies and i thought i would share my recipe with you, i am by no means a food blogger, but these are really easy, they took me 15 minutes to make and 25 minutres in the oven, then just allow for cooling time. The aim is to have rich, fudgy, irresistible and totally addictive brownies with Cadbury Creme Eggs baked inside.

I used the mini creme eggs for my brownies as it just seemed to make more sense as the full size ones are quite big.

For making the brownies i just used a regular brownie recipe (this is the one i used). After pouring the mixture into the square tin, i placed the unwrapped mini creme eggs (i used 2 bags) into the mixture, i just lightly pressed them in and put in to bake for 25 minutes.

Now, i greased the tin but didn't line it, this proved problematic for several reasons. I think my tin was either a bit big, or i didn't have enough mixture as the mix didn't fully the cover the eggs. I think if i was making these again, i wouldn't put the creme eggs in straight away, i would let it bake for 10 minutes, then put the eggs in, as my eggs burst, so i didn't get a lovely creme egg centre, instead i had a chocolate shell and the centre had leaked out to make a really gooey sticky area around the chocolate (still really tasty, just not the desired effect) and because they burst, they stuck to the tin, making removing them really hard.

Hopefully you can learn from my mistakes, i think will make these for Easter Sunday lunch and i will try the new technique and line the tin and hope that works better. If you make these, please let me know in the comments! Good luck and have fun baking.
