HD Brows: Worth the money?

This week i finally bit the bullet and got HD brows done. I've been wanting it for over a year but was just too lazy to actually go do it, plus in Bath there isn't anywhere to do. To find someone in Reading i used the stylist locator on the HD webpage and i found Anna, she comes to your house, making it super easy.

So why did i want HD brows? I have quite light, fine eyebrows, which didn't make much of an impact on my face, i had to pencil them in to get any real effect, and i think a good brow is really important. I wanted to be able to have a statement brow without all the effort.

So what happens?

You will need a patch test at least 24 hours before, and this went on fine and i had no problems. That's the only pre-prep you need to do. Apart from letting your brows grow out a bit. Mine were a total mess but Anna told me they were in the ideal state to be worked with (for reference this is 3 months growth).

Anna arrived at my house and was really lovely and friendly, making me feel totally at ease (if you are in the Reading area, i highly recommend her). We discussed what colour to tint my brows, she had a HD book with her and showed me the options, we went for dark brown, but said we could go black next time if i wanted, but the colour is spot on, any darker they might look a bit odd. She asked me what shape i wanted, and again gave me the book to look through for inspiration. I just said i wanted a bold brow and would like to get a more defined arch in but let her decide what to do with them. She got measuring and marking my brows and then started waxing. Does the waxing hurt? a bit but i've had worse, i just got one watery eye. Then she threaded my brows to get a more sleek and defined finished, then it was in with the tweezers to get the strays. She showed me in the mirror what they looked like, and they were fab. We will work more on my arch over the coming sessions, it isn't something that will happen straight away. She finished them with some HD brows powder, brow pencil and gel, to show how they can look when totally done, and the result was wow.

For me, the result was amazing, my brows look great, even when i first wake up. £25 is quite expensive but i think it is worth it. You need to get them maintained every 4-6 weeks but after 3 or 4 treatments your brows should be in such good shape that you might be able to do it yourself.

If you want a more purse friendly alternative to HD brows - read my DIY brows post, where i see if i can achieve a similar look by myself.
