Style XL Awards 2017

After the mess that was the Plus Size Awards the amazing Leah stepped in and organised an event that really was for the community. Here is about my day...

I made a pretty last minute decision to attend the awards, only getting my ticket the Wednesday before the event, but i wanted to see some of the blogging ladies i hadn't seen in a long time.

I got the train to Birmingham, where i met Tan and her daughter for some food before heading to her hotel (i basically invited myself there) to get ready. We were running late and hadn't left ourselves a lot of time to get ready.
Victory rolls for the win

I slapped some make up on, got Tan to do me some Vintage rolls (how i wish i could do these myself) helped Tan put her shoes on (i felt very prince charming) and we grabbed an uber to the venue.
Sneak peek at my outfit - everyone loved my shoes!

Looking good after the rush to get ready.
Arriving there was fabulous blogger everywhere and some to me faces which were lovely to meet. I was really excited to see Nikki, who i hadn't seen in a long time and we spent ages talking about the old days of blogging

This was an awards ceremony after all and my bestie Tan won the first award for most Inspirational Blogger - i really am lucky to call her my bestie.

Lottie also won the award for best social media which was well deserved - go give her a follow if you don't already.

After some food, we did what all good bloggers do and went and got some outfit photos on a roundabout - we literally stopped traffic!

It really was a great night and it had such a great feeling - proving you don't need red carpets and sit down dinners to have a good night, what really matters is the people who attend, so a big thank you to Leah for creating an event that felt true to the Plus Size community and was a pleasure to attend.
