Rad Fatties Shopping Day

Last Friday i boarded a three hour train to Doncaster, A trip i was very excited about, i was finally going to meet some of the amazing blogging ladies. Rebecca organised a fat shopping day and i told about it by Rachel and decided to just go and have fun, and fun i had indeed.

There was a bit of a shaky start with an awful hotel, but that was sorted quickly and i ended up in a a lovely hotel, if you are ever in Doncaster, i recommend the Grand St Leger.

Saturday morning i was up early as i was quite excited and a tad nervous and started to get ready, i wore my latest Ebay find, a Beth Ditto for Evans Polka Dot dress (i got it in a 22 but think i could have sized down).

I also used my new OPI moonraker nail polish.

I arrived at the station to be greeted by many friendly faces, in total there was 8 of us, Rachel, Lisa, Laura, Steph, Beth, Rebecca and Lisa. I can't thank the girls enough for making me feel so welcome, i didn't feel like i had never met any of them before and we all chatted like old friends.

Our first stop on the fatty trail was Simply Be, i had never been to Simply Be before as we don't have them down south. There was some sale stuff left but not a lot in my size or that caught my eye, but i did get one dress (that several of the others girls got as well) and you will see this featuring in a post soon. We took over the changing rooms and did a mini catwalk show, all showing what we had bought, i have never shopped with over fat people before and it was such a revelation  These girls loved their bodies and just enjoyed trying on clothes, the same as anyone else and it was a proper girly shopping trip.

We popped into a few other stores without much success  Our biggest success of the day, was a bit of a surprise, New Look, they had a huge Inspire section upstairs and rails of sale clothes. Again we took over the changing rooms and were in and out of each others doing twirls and seeking approval. I got several items from here, two of which featured in an outfit yesterday and i will have the other 2 featuring in outfit posts over the next week.

Exhausted with achy feet and hungry bellies we went for dinner, i can honestly say, i haven't had that much fun or laughed that much in a long time. 8 fat ladies at a table is just loud and unashamed fun, i think serveral of the other dinners were actually distracted by us and are cackling. Some of us went for a drink before heading home and we managed to get this photo.

Rachel also gave me this lovely brooch, i have admired her crafting skills on twitter and wanted to get my hands on one of her creations and now i have one!

I can't wait to return North and i am already making plans for a Birthday trip up north and i came home and just told my bf how i wanted to move north to be part of this amazing little gang full
time......hopefully one day.

I had so much fun shopping, much more fun than other trips I've had recently :) We are completely unashamed of ourselves even though other people think we should be, I think we definitely may have made other diners unamused but we had fun cackling away! 5. Aw it sounds like it was a fantastic day. There's nothing like a good girlie shopping trip, especially a good girlie shopping trip with people who shop in the same shops/sections as you. I wish we had a Simply Be shop down south somewhere. Oh, and I think Swindon always had a huge New Look Inspire section (unless it's changed in the last two years)... don't think it's too far from Bath xx
