OOTD - Dotty

Today is another weird weather day and i am feeling the chill a bit so i am going back to normal length leggings and a bit of a warmer dress. I think i am going to Ilford to look at a car i found (hopefully this one could be the one) so i want something comfortable for sitting in the car.

This is the dress i got from Primark last week, i love the spotty detail,it just gives a plain black dress something special and makes it stand out more. i paired it with my pink belt (i really do need to get some more skinny belts, suggestions welcome) and my unicorn necklace from Heidi Seeker

Dress - Primark Size 20 £13

OOTD - Yet more doggy madness

So the weather today has been a bit crazy, sunny one minute, thunder storms the next, so i needed something that could handle both and i decided to wear my amazing new dog print dress. This is now my third dog print dress and i might have to ban myself from buying anymore, they are just so cute, i can't help myself.

Dress Pirmark, Size 20, £15. 3/4 length leggings Asda Size 18 £6

The dress itself is the same style as the horse dress i posted about, chiffon top layer with a slip under, pintuck detail on the bust and a peter-pan collar. I need to get myself a skinny black patent belt as the belts that come with the dress are uselessly tiny.

What do you wear on days like this when the weather can't make it's mind up?

New Look review

On Monday after i got out of hospital and was feeling pretty groggy and sorry for myself, i slipped into the comforting arms of retail therapy, and in the 5 days i hadn't been online i missed some good stuff from New Look
Such as this PVC skirt, now in the picture it looked lovely, i thought great, another trend sorted, i can rock this look come autumn, sadly the reality is much different, the skirt is awful fitting, i sized up to a 22 thinking it might need a bit of room, well i actually had to fight to get into. Then there is the material, its cheap and looks like it would peel off over time, then there is the cut, i know it said skater skirt but this is pretty wide and flares a lot, it does nothing for my hips, in fact in clings to them and makes them look huge, it is also pretty short, i feel like i've made a skirt out of bin bags myself (badly) and put it in, sorry for the scathing review but for £19.99 it really isn't worth it.

I also bought the denim dress, i didn't have much faith in it when i purchased it thinking it would look like a shapeless sack on me, my mother even said the same, but i said i will at least try it and i actually don't think it is that bad! it does need the belt otherwise it is slightly tentish but it actually makes me look like an hourglass which is meant to be a good thing, it will be better for a cooler summer day, it has poppers down the front, which gape a bit but not loads (considering how big my bust is, i sized up to a 22 knowing i would need the space) so i might actually keep this dress as i think its quite nice.

I did also buy a black blazer, i got it in a size 18 as it was the only size left and it actually fits pretty well (better than any others i've tried) so i'm thinking about it while looking for others, sadly no picture as i was so hot i thought i might melt if i put it on.

I also bought a new swimsuit today from Asda which is rather lovely, but i have another two coming so i will do a swimsuit themed posted to review them all together.

OOTD: A dog print dress is a girls best friend

Call me a grinch if you like but i really do not like this weather, it is just too hot for me, i only managed 3 hours sleep last night, put me by the sea with a breeze and i will be fine, but when it's 18 degrees at 7am, i know i'm  in trouble.

I have to run some errands today (i need to go pick up my new 3/4 length leggings so i'm not so warm) and decided to wear my new dog print dress with cut out sides (however my bra is quite long so it just looks like mesh panels in these photos)

Dress - Primark, Size 20 £10

This is my brothers handwork today and once again i'm modelling in my garden. Also i couldn't look directly at the camera as the sun was in my eyes.

When i seen this dress i loved it, dog print...check....cut out sides....check...a few of my favourite styles all in one! the fabric is jersey and very stretchy, i probably could have sized down if i wanted. Just goes to show we really do need to try things on. I'm really impressed with Primark atm, their range has increased in size, and i must say the sizing is cut quite generously and they are doing some lovely stuff all for a bargain price.

Check out  the http://www.nearsightedowl.com/ to be part of this project!

Who said fat girls couldn't wear boob tubes and short tops?

I said earlier i might show you my more casual hanging around the house attire for this weather and here it is! i had to drag myself away from lolly eating and looking for cars to get this and yes it is taken in my dining room (no one here to help me take pictures)

Boob tube - Primark Size 20 £2.25. Pink Tie Top - Primark size 18. Leggings - New Look Size 18 £9

I actually really like this outfit, its chilled, comfy and bright enough for summer. A few months ago i would have dreamed of wearing an outfit like this, let alone buying it. It has been drilled into us that fat girls should cover up in the summer, find a dress that resembles a tent and go sit in the corner so not to put people off their ice cream but i say fuck them! wear what you want and show as much skin as you want.  This is how far i've come in a few short months, i am now happy to wear something that shows off my body for exactly what it is and i think i look alright in it, so yes fat girls can wear boob tubes and short tops and love it.x

OOTD - The sun is here

So summer is finally here (only for a few days so make the most of it), i had to pop out earlier and this is what i wore (i might post another outfit later showing my more chilled at home look). I also took my first set of pictures outside in my garden and i love the results, something i might need to do more of.

Dress: New Look, Size 20 £10. Shoes: Next, Size 5 1/2 £25 wide foot

I love this dress, it is so bright and colourful, perfect for a summer day, i also think it makes my curves look great, I teamed them with my next wedges (they don't look like wedges in this picture but i assure you that they are). The dress is actually long enough that i don't need to wear leggings. Please excuse my pale legs, i don't fake tan as i like to embrace the pale.

What are you wearing now the sun has arrived?

OOTD - Bows

So i'm heading to Bath this evening as i have an appointment there tomorrow. Hopefully tonight if we get there early enough me and the bf will be going to ikea for a meatball dinner and a look at chairs (as an early birthday present i'm buying him this chair that you can bounce in)

I'm trying to work my way through my new dresses and am kind of on a don't wear the same thing twice idea ( just for a few weeks so that i actually start to wear some of my wardrobe and don't refer to my staple safe outfits)

I got this dress in the sale and i really like it, longer than my usual style (i like a short dress what can i say) but i think this actually really suits me and is away from my usual black in a navy.  I also like the little cap sleeves as i wouldn't have to wear a cardigan if i didn't want to. The dress came with a ribbon belt which i love, without it, it might look a bit shapeless.

Dress - New Look, Size 20 £11

I decided to add one of my birthday presents, my compass necklace, it also has a little swallow on it but my finger is covering it up.

OOTD - Away with the horses

I've been feeling a bit crappy lately so today i decided to put on one of my nice new dresses and actually do something with my hair (i'm normally a just blow dry and leave it person, or messy bun if i can't be bothered) and here is the result.

I absolutely loved this dress when i seen it in Primark last week, i was unsure if it would fit but i managed to find a 20 and went to try it on and surprise surprise, it actually fit! i was delighted and had to have it (my lovely mummy actually bought it for me as she wants to wear it at point). The print is different scenes with hoses, some running, some in the field with pintuck detail to the bust and a peterpan collar, in is a chiffon like material with a slip underneath but it is still quite thin (hence why you can see my bra) it is so girly and pretty i just feel lovely in it. It did come with a patent blue belt but it was way to tiny and i think in future i would wear it with a belt i just don't have a skinny one here.

Dress - Primark, Size 20 £15

What is your cheer myself up outfit?

Now onto my hair, when it comes to my hair i'm just so lazy, i've let it grow out a bit so its at a length where i could do things with, if anyone has any suggestions for things i can try, please suggest them or send me links to stuff but remember i am a hair novice who can't even plait hair (one of my shameful secrets). Today i just  took two sections from the front of my hair and backcombed them, pinned them and hairsprayed them into place, its a bit messy but not bad for a first go. What are your hair secrets?

Why am i scared?

I am quite new to the blogging world, only starting in February but in all that time, i've been terrified of people i know in real life seeing my blog. I wouldn't tweet my blog address or add it my twitter, i wouldn't share it on facebook.

I got to wondering last night about it...why am i scared? is it because i think they will judge and laugh?  will it lead to people whispering about me behind my back? Will it open the floodgates for negative comments? Or is it because this is my private space to be who i want to be without pressure from the real world?

A peace and calm almost came over me as i was thinking this, who cares what other people think. This blog and space is about me as a person, and me saying fuck yeah i'm here and this is my body, if you don't like it, don't look. I'm actually really proud of my blog and what it represents and i want it to help people to come on the same journey i've come on. So this morning i added my blog address to my twitter, i also posted my blog address for all of twitter to see, i didn't feel like crawling into a corner about it, i felt empowered, i'm actually doing something positive (i hope) and that is nothing to feel ashamed of.

A successful day shopping

Primark:

The dress was just so pretty, i didn't think it would fit but there was actually lots of room, i could have sized down but i prefer to keep things a bit roomy rather than right. It has horse print and a peter pan collar along with pleating down the centre, it has an under dress and then a chiffon layer on top. Size 20 £15.

Continuing my theme of animal print, again this dress is so cute, it has cut out detail at the sides (just because you are plus size don't mean you can't do cut out) and it has dachshund print and i knew i just had to have it. a stretchy material and perfect for summer. Size 20 £10

This is a horse print peplum top, i am loving peplum tops and think they really suit my shape, again didn't think this would fit, just shows you really do need to try stuff on. Print is quite busy but i like that, also has a peter pan collar and the peplum is quite gentle on this. Size 20 £7

New Look

Bow Dress - I've been eyeing this up for a while and wondering if i should get it, seen it in the sale today for £11 (was £22.99) and decided to go for it. It is pretty roomy and i could have sized down if they had one in store. Comes with a ribbon belt. Size 20.

Love heart print dress - Again another dress i've been eyeing up, such a girly pink isn't normally a colour isn't would wear but i tried it and my mum said it was lovely. Got this is an 18 and again there was quite a bit of room in it. £10 (was £19.99)

Aztec print dress - I hadn't seen this online or instore before (or i just hadn't noticed it) but the bold and colourful print stood out, i am trying to wear less black and this is the opposite to black. Again could of sized down. Size 20 £11 (from £22.99)

Animal print - i have also wanted to jazz up my leggings for a while, seen these and thought why not, just go for it. They had a small hole in so i got an extra 10% off and my mum has sewed them up for me. Size 20 £5.40 (was £14.99 then £6)

All in all i've had a sucessful day shopping, everything i tried fitted and i could have in fact sized down on quite a few bits, maybe i've lost some weight with the stress of what is happening in my personal life at the moment, i also got to spend my £20 voucher for new look...bargain! Can't wait to wear all my new dresses!

What have you bought in the sales?

OOTD - Barking Mad

Sorry for the rubbish photo, this is just  quick post showing off my fabulous dog print dress, when i seen this dress i fell in love with it but they didn't have it in my size so the lovely Hanna got me and posted me it, it arrived this morning and i put it on straight away.

Dress - Primark Size 20 £10

OOTD - Grey Dress

So the weather here today is a bit crazy, sunshine one minute then thunder and lightening the next so i decided to wear something that could fit both, my grey H&M dress, its thick enough material to keep me warm but not too warm if that makes sense. It has two huge pockets in which i love and i like the slash of the colour at the back with the pink zip, i added my coral belt and i'm ready for a day of lounging in comfort. As i had to pop out i added my pink ballet pumps forgetting i had grey ones in my bag.
                        Dress - H&M Size L £12.99 Belt - DP Size XL £6 for a set of two

OOTD - Zebra

I know i have shown this dress before but hell i love it so i'm showing it again. It continues my love of animal print clothing.
This outfit was from yesterday, it was my great aunts 86th birthday so the whole family went over to Windsor to see all my other family and present my aunt with her present (a 40" tv) so i decided i better put some effort into my outfit as i was going to be on show. I wore the dress with a different belt, my new one from DP which i love, the detail on it is pretty.

Belt  - DP Size XL £9.50

Evans and DP Review

So i've had a few days away from my blog and i don't think i'm ready to come back properly just yet but i wanted to upload some pictures of a recent online shopping haul, unfortunately i wasn't in the best place to be taking loads of pictures so while there was loads more stuff i bought, i only got photos of these 3 items, sorry.

When i seen this that dress had gone down to £25 in the sale from £75 i had to give it a go.....and while it is lovely and found the fit wasn't really on my side. i got it in a size 22 as i knew the fabric wouldn't stretch yet the boob area looks really weird, my boobs just didn't sit where they meant to meaning this dress just didn't sit right. Gutted as it was really an amazing dress.

I bought this dress on a whim, also in the sale as it was £30 down from £75 and it was lovely, really pretty on with little pockets, however i was not a fan of the sleeves, they were elasticated and a bit big on my arms, i also got this is a 22 which was actually too big, it was huge at the big so it had t go back. It came with two belt, one  fabric one the same print as the dress and the black one i am wearing in the picture which i loved! its now down to £25 so go check it out.

The dress is from DP in the sale, £22, i bought this with my graduation in mind, it has a lovely print, cut out and cross over straps and a frilly hem, i loved it and have kept it.

I also bought this swimsuit from Very....there are no photos as it would have been boarding on porn! the bottom part of the suit was amazing and looked really lovely, however the bust was just a disaster with my boobs, as there is no back the triangles covered about 50% of my boobs and the rest were just left to run free, not really approiate for public. It was £18 and if you have a smaller bust i would defiantly recommend it!

I also bought some jeans and a jumpsuit from Very which i have no pictures of, the jumpsuit was way too long in the leg and the jeans just weren't fitted enough for me.
I aslo bought some coloured jeans from style365 which were from Evans, these were way too long for my legs.

I bought this top as a continuation of my love affair with all things animal print. This is from DP and was £15 in the sale and it is still in stock. It is such a light fabric with a subtle peplum, its just stunning, it has a button up back. I actually wore this to a meeting at my uni on Friday just didn't get a picture but an OOTD will soon follow!
