Fatshionologie: Work wear

Fatshionologie is a blogger style challenge born out of a discussion on twitter in the hope that it would help us create exciting new content for our blogs as well as show that each new style 'theme' can be rocked by a variety of different body shapes!

This months theme was Work Wear - What we would wear to an important work meeting or interview

This was a bit of a tricky one for me and required a bit of head scratching. I am a PhD student, i don't work in a normal office or working environment, i have no dress code and can pretty much wear what i like. Even when teaching my seminars or having meetings with my supervisors i just wear my everyday clothes that you see on the blog all the time. Then i had an idea, i was hoping to attend a conference in Barcelona in July, however funding is tight and needs to be saved for the big CCT conference in Helsinki next year (where i will be presenting something). I might still be attending this conference (out of my own pocket) and i thought i would style my outfit around what i would wear. It needs to be professional as this is me being socialized into the academic world and first impressions count.

Dress - ASOS curve
Blazer - Next
Tights - Evans
Shoes - New Look

This dress is amazing! the block colours really help bring out my curves and the leather panel just gives it a bit of edge. However there are so draw backs to this dress, the white panels are quite sheer, it might not show up in the pictures but you could see my white bra. Also it is tight, and shows off every lump and bump, this doesn't massively bother me but it might be an issue for some ladies out there. I got the size 22 and it was a bit of a fight to get in it (maybe because i don't ever undo zips) and i think if i had got smaller i wouldn't be able to move in it.

Do you think this dress would make the right impression and give a lasting impact about me?

I hope you liked my conference look , now go check out the others girls take on the theme:

Mel - Glad rags and handbags
Joanna - Just Joanna
Charmaine - My twenty1
Steph - Seeing Spots
Kim - Call Me Kim
Leah - Just Me Leah
