My Guide To Chub Rub

During one of the Sunday Night #psbloggerschat the subject of chub rub reared it's ugly head. Chub Rub for those of you who don't know what it is, it when your thighs rub together and create a sore red patch, this isn't just a curse of having lovely voluptuous thighs, even our slimmer counterparts suffer from this dreaded red monstrosity. I have been left tip toeing around my house, like a cat on hot coals because of chub rub and it is one of the main reasons i am always in leggings or tights, as baring my legs means suffering for days after.

But i want to get my legs out, summer is approaching (hopefully!) and it gets hot having to cover up when all my legs want is to be free and feel the breeze or heat on them. So how do i get around the chub rub issue? Today i have a few tips for you.
2 oz Secret Shield, Skin Barrier Balm, Friction Defense Stick, Chubrub Defense
  1. Secret Shield - This is a method i swear by, i did a post on it back in September, which you can find here but it is called Secret Shield. A bit like a deodorant but specifically designed to stop friction or chub rub. You can get it on Esty here. It does come from the US but delivery was quick and because it is less than £15 i didn't have to pay any charges, this will be my go to in the summer.
  2. Comfort Shorts - I got a pair of comfort shorts from Evans a few weeks back, because sometimes even the Secret Shield won't do the job, this is also handy because it isn't that warm yet, so it keeps you warm and protects your modesty (my skirts keep getting blown up in the wind). It is pretty much a sure fire way to stop those thighs burning. I got them in black, but they also come in Nude and for only £8 they are a bargain. They do come up quite long (mine can reach my knees) but i just pull them up or fold them over to be shorter. You can get them here.
  3. Silky Underwear Dusting Powder by LUSH - I haven't personally tried this, but i have read good things about it on Tumblr and if i didn't already have my Secret Shield i would probably give it a go. Here is what the website says about it "Light powders to slide over the skin and leave it feeling silky to the touch, combined with a sensual, heady jasmine and vetivert fragrance.  Finished off with a sprinkling of grated cocoa butter, to melt on and stop the skin feeling dry or rough." As with all LUSH products, smells amazing and will leave you silky smooth. I also have heard that Dr Feel Good by Benefit will do a similar thing, so if you already own so, give it a go and let me know how it works.
  4. Lanacane Anti-Chafing Gel - This is available on the UK highstreet, and Amazon. It is a chafing gel, designed for everyone (not for those of us who like that extra slice of cake). This is the most accessible of my options as you can walk in most chemists and get this easily (so if you happen to suffer an attack while out, run, no waddle to Boots and hopefully this will help). This might be a good starting point for people, because it doesn't involve buying from the US and is easy to get, so maybe this should be your first port of call, and see how it works for you.

I hope this has been somewhat helpful and will help relieve your poor thighs, sadly i think Chub Rub is a personal thing and you need to find the solution that works for you, if you have something that works for you that i haven't shared, please add a comment and share....Good Luck!
