DIY Brows

I loved getting HD Brows done (read about my experience here), the results were fantastic, but it is a pricey option and one that i just can't afford right now, so could i do a decent job of my eyebrows myself?

I purchased an Eylure Dybrow kit "Eylure Dybrow is the ideal way to get dark glossy brows for up to 6 weeks. A proven formula will darken lighter brows to ensure an even colour and beautifully defined brows." (It is currently on offer in Superdrug) as this seemed ideal for what i wanted, i think the main improvement i got from the HD Brows was the tint, my natural eyebrow colour is quite light. £5 for up to 12 applications is quite a bargain, seeing as HD Brows start at £25.

The instructions were fairly simple to follow and the pack contains everything you need, even a dish to mix the dye in.  It says leave on for 2 minutes, but i'm a rebel and knew it would need longer, so left it on for 5 minutes, the maximum allowed. I wouldn't say the result was amazing, but they are darker than when i started, which it what i wanted, i just maybe wanted them darker, but that is personal preference (they also do the dye in black). Then i plucked them to just tidy them up as the general shape is ok.

I found the mix easy to put on with the mascara wand but it did clump a bit if you got too much on it. It didn't stain my skin which is always a bit plus (no one wants the tell tell sings) and it only took me about 10 minutes to do.

So the verdict - My brows look better, thanks to the plucking, they had a tendency to look a little bushy and wild when not groomed. I have no product in them, this is their natural state. You can see they do look a bit darker, it is subtle, but i guess you don't want them to look to over the top, product can help achieve that look. For price and time, i would say it is a much more purse friendly way to do your brows. It might not have the sharpness and professional finish but for less than £5 they look good.

What do you think of my DIY Brows?
